Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
(this might old news to you....)
Wow, what a great book. I'm not an avid recreational fiction fan, but I am loving it and almost finished. I actually wake up early to read it before class.
If you're one or more of any of these, you need to read it esp. if:
-you're Catholic, even if you don't practice
-you're into science
-you're into the question of God/Religion vs. Science
I'll put up more detail when I finish... i couldn't wait.

I liked it better when it was called the Da Vinci Code.

I read them both in about 3 days. I actually liked angels and demons better. To anyone that hasn't read them yet, I would read angels and demons first. It makes the davinci code much easier to understand. Dan brown's other books are really good to, check them out.

I am almost precisely 2/3rds done with this book now and it is definitely entirely awesome. I think the book could be a liiiiittle bit more faithful in its reader, meaning half the time you figure out the "riddle" before Langdon even does, which is kind of annoying. (I understand you need the details too, so that it makes sense to you as well, but some of it is overkill.) Each little clue is spelled out to you while it holds your hand and once they finally figure it out for themselves in the book it's like "NO DUH", so that gets a little old. But other than that, it's an awesome book. I'm very excited to finish it and get started on DaVinci Code.

I finally finished it and absolutely loved it. I was cackling like a maniac at some of the things that happened in the end. Very good entertainment. Almost makes me wish I majored in History/Religion instead of just my minor
So now I'm going to read DaVinci Code. Might not be able to read it very quick cuz I'll HOPEFULLY be packing this weekend and HOPEFULLY moving early next week. But that might get delayed a week or so, which would allow me time to read it, I reckon. I'm scared to, though, cuz of all the hype. Will I have too many expectations for it and it'll subsequently suck? I doubt it -- I have probably less expectations for it than I did for Angels & Demons, since so many people have told me they liked Angels & Demons better. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised with DaVinci Code...

I'm starting "Da Vinci Code" now too... I'm taking two summer classes, so I probably won't read it at the pace you will. I'm definitely excited... and I'm not a casual fiction reader.

anybody hear about the reviews of the movie? they're generally not good. Supposedly people were openly jeering it at Cannes it sucked so bad.
I wouldn't mind seeing it tonight though, just to see all the Jesus geeks with no lives protesting it. Just purchasing the ticket could be more entertaining than the movie itself...

I'm definitely going to see it. I've found that the more the critics hate the movie, the more I like it.
I also think I'll wear a marilyn manson t shirt just to further agitate the Jesus Freaks.
